The Fab Four

Here they are: the Fab Four! Ella got to meet her newest cousin. His name is William James. We had a nice visit at Auntie Christa and Uncle Chris' house. Auntie Lisa came to visit with Matthew too. It's so nice to have all children so close in age.

Hello Gorgeous! Ella has always enjoyed looking in the mirror. Here she is, laughing at her reflection in the mirror. She chuckles at herself and keeps waving hello. She really loves to wave hello to EVERYBODY now. She is also loving to share food and toys with people. She's starting to be less shy and quite interested in meeting new people.

A New Menu

After seeing a pediatric nutritionist (and a food sensitivity test done by a naturopath), Ella and Mommy are eating different foods. No more dairy or wheat for either of us as it tends to bother Ella's tummy (and reflux). For lunch today, Ella had nitrate free turkey, grapes, and spelt bread w/ apricot jam...all washed down w/ organic, enriched rice milk. Thankfully, the nutritionist referred us to an awesome bakery in Aurora that does kamut and spelt bread (organic and yeast free). The bread actually tastes like wheat - Mommy even prefers it. The bakery also make bagels and pizza dough. Ella seems to be napping better and having better night sleeps. Here's hoping, that w/ the right foods that she will be better overall. She's "over" purees and is preferring "real" food. She needs to get big and strong more than ever - Ella is officially outnumbered 3 to 1. Auntie Christa and Uncle Chris welcomed their second son on Saturday. William James weighed 8 lbs and is a clone of his older brother. Ella will have to give cousins Alex, Matthew, and William a run for their money. The pics are from bath time the other night and from today's lunch.

Like Father, Like Daughter

Ella not only looks like Daddy, but she has his toughness too. Today, Ella and I got the H1N1 shot. Ella didn't cry - she didn't even wimper! Last week, she didn't even flinch when she had an allergy test. Needles have nothing on reflux pain! She is so impressive - much like her Daddy. He can have broken ribs and not whine at all. They are two tough cookies. Here's a picture of toughie #1 and toughie #2 - taken tonight after dinner.

Ella adores Daddy and dives into his arms whenever the opportunity presents itself. She automatically bursts out laughing when he arrives home at night. She will desperately try to get out of her highchair to get into his arms. It is a wonderful bond to witness!

Spaghetti, Coffee Mugs, and Exersaucers

Ella is enjoying trying new foods! This weekend, she sampled spaghetti (rice - not wheat), turkey, bread, and chicken. She's had turkey and chicken before, in pureed form, but really seemed to enjoy the real thing. She's having fun exploring the house. Today she got stuck under the exersaucer. Here is a video of Ella's behaviour when she wants something that Daddy or Mommy have. In this case, it was Mommy's coffee cup. It ususally involves a meltdown if she doesn't get what she seeks.
