As Promised...

Here is a picture of Ella that Mommy took today. The Beaners is enjoying her spelt muffins with pear jam - yummy! She went to daycare for a few hours today (Mommy was off work because it's exam time). Ella had loads of fun with her friends while Mommy went shopping with her very pregnant friend, Lisa. Ella's cold continues to hang on but her spirits are high. Daddy now has a cold; however, even with a stuffy nose and sore throat, he took the time to buy Mommy a beautiful bouquet of flowers on his way home from work. She was so surprised! Mommy has to work tomorrow (it's exam review day) and Monday too (a PA Day). She starts teaching her classes Tuesday which is the beginning of semester two. She's hoping her knack for dealing with teenagers hasn't left her.

A Chatty Cathy!

We survived the third week of daycare. Ella continues to get more comfortable every day. She's still battling a really bad cold. It's been hanging on for almost 3 weeks now. Her nose is a faucett! We trying a humidifier and HydraSense now. She doesn't have a fever and she seems quite content (other than not being able to nurse or sleep because she's so stuffed up).

Ella continues to change every day. She's trying to talk a lot so much more now. She's says "Momma", "DaDa" (sometimes it's GaGa), "Ella", "ookie" (cookie), "BaBa" (Bronte), "Ba" (ball), and "boo" (book). She is also trying to say "thank you" and "turkey".

She's become fond of dancing (she shakes her torso when she hears music or when you ask her to dance). She's also desperately trying to stand from a sitting position. She doesn't seem overly keen on walking - she'd much rather stand or crawl.

I would post a picture but, well, my camera's batteries died (AGAIN). I will try to post a pic this week.

What a Week!

Well, we survived the first week of daycare. Neither Ella nor Mommy cried too much. Ella seems to be adjusting quite well. She's napping and having fun with the other children. She seems to really want her teachers to be close by so that she can get a reassuring snuggle from them. She's also very attached to Mommy in the evenings. Making dinner usually involves having Ella clinging to Mommy's legs or snuggling in her arms. Thankfully, she remembered this weekend that Daddy loves her just as much as she's going and hugging him yet again.
Her sixth tooth is making its appearance. Also, she has her first fever and cold. Mommy and Daddy suspected the tooth was coming and wondered about the cold. Mommy had to take a sick day on Friday and will have to again on Monday as babies with temperatures are to stay home. Mommy doesn't want to be away from Ella either if she isn't feeling 100%. We saw a doctor who suggested that we get her ears checked again mid week and to monitor her temperature. She's fighting whatever bug she has. Other than the tooth, fever, and snotty nose, she's quite happy as you can tell by today's picture. We hope she sleeps better tonight as this week has not been good. The teething woke her all week and now the congestion keeps her up. Mommy is tired! It's been quite the week!!!

Nothin' Runs Like a Deere

Happy New Year Everyone! The year ended on a stressful note as Ella took a tumble off the bed New Year's Eve. As per usual, she took the fall like a champ. Daddy, who was watching her at the time, feels awful. Ella is just so mobile now and it was a good lesson to both Mommy and Daddy to be ever more careful. It was extremely stressful experience but we're told by many parents that these falls are part of childhood. We hope that this scare was the last for us and that 2010 is a year filled with healthy moments.

It's very cold today! It will feel like -24 degrees Celscius this afternoon. We've decided to stay inside and to avoid the freezing cold. Tomorrow, Mommy returns to work with a very heavy heart. She's been dreading this day for some time now. We hope that Ella will continue to enjoy daycare and that Mommy (and Daddy) don't cry too much tomorrow.

Ella is staying comfortable in her John Deere pants. Neighbour Auntie Dar made them for Christmas for Ella. Now, Daddy and Ella have John Deere attire. While Daddy wears his for work, Ella has enjoyed lounging in her pants today.

Say a prayer for Ella, Mommy, and Daddy so that this week goes smoothly!
