Our baby girl waving "hello'Ella will finally have an ally - a new sister. We are pretty excited to continue on this path of pink that we started with Ella. We had a feeling that we were having a girl for a little while now - it was nice to get the confirmation today. As Mommy has been outnumbered for years in the gender department, we're so happy that Ella won't be in the same situation. Daddy will now be really surrounded by females: Mommy, Ella, Baby B (as we call her for now) and Bronte.
Mommy will have to be more closely monitored this time - she may have a situation with blood flow in the uterus leading to hypertension. But she feels really well and the little one is starting to make her busy presence known. The ultrasound went well - heart, lungs, brain, etc all were normal and the technician commented on how healthy (and active) she is.
Ella continues to show some understanding of the upcoming event. She is starting to talk to the baby (Mommy's tummy).
The Beaners has recently become obsessed with books. She's always loved them but now wants to be read to ALL day long. She's even taken to wanting to hold books as she sleeps. She knows who Cinderella is now along with "No White" and "Seeping Duty" as she calls them. She particularly loves any book about Sesame Street along with the Stella series. Brown Bear and Spot remain favourites. Ella is a sweet girl and a true snuggler. She has a temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way (thankfully, not lasting very long) and loves it when Daddy carries her and runs around the house. She also loves to look at big trucks and buses when riding in the car and to see 'mighty machines' at work (construction/farm equipment). She's a girl who loves both dolls and dump trucks!
