Okay, so we've been lame
bloggers lately. The family has been incredibly busy with work, Ella, house renovations, spring cleaning, preparing for baby #2 and family
commitments. It has been
insane! Darren and I feel like we need a weekend from the weekends. We've decided to stay in our little house for the year so that Ella can continue Montessori part time next year. We've re-arranged the house and Darren (aka Superman) has been doing some major structural
renos to that little cottage of ours. Cosmetic updates will occur slowly throughout the next year.
Ella is definitely a little girl. She wows us with her language and behaviour. Her latest word is "furious" (thanks to the book
Click Clack Moo) for that one. She has starting adding objects and remains a dramatic little one with incredible facial expressions and a witty sense of humour. The occasional (and sometimes severe) toddler meltdown occurs and tries our patience. Potty training interests her; however, she doesn't understand one key component:
sitting on the potty doesn't actually constitute
going potty.
She is eagerly awaiting the birth of her sister. She enjoys talking to Mommy's tummy and telling her sister how much she loves her. She pretends to play with her and puts her to bed. She wants to call her sister "Cheesy" (needless to say, this baby has her first nickname already now). She loves babies and we hope that jealousy won't affect her too much. Ella has a big girl bed now (nice, new double bed) and yearns to be independent.
Baby #2 is VERY active. I still have more tests (although the Doppler ultrasound was normal) to be extra cautious. I have non-stress tests booked weekly until delivery and an ultrasound this week to verify the baby's size (although she feels much bigger than Ella ever did - no surprise as Ella is still a little one). Can you believe it's already 34 weeks now!? Blood pressure is good and I feel well. I can't believe that Ella was born just 3 weeks from the stage I am at now. The O.B. says I won't go beyond July 20
th (the due date). I want to finish the semester and have a week or so to finish getting ready. After this point, I will feel better prepared.
I have pictures but seem to have a hard time getting the patience (and time) for uploading them. I am happy that I occasionally get the time to shave my legs, so I guess I can't be too hard on myself.
